About This Private Resource

We are not a government office and cannot confirm custody, release anyone, pull an official record, change a booking entry, or give legal advice. Messages about the operation of this private resource can be sent through its normal contact channel. For an official record, use the agency that created or holds it.

Important: Do not send sensitive identifiers, payment details, or urgent safety information through a private contact form. For an emergency, call 911.

Lamar Sheriff and Jail Records

Use the Sheriff for a written booking-record request, a photo request where legally disclosable, or a question about which county office holds a record. The county lists Sheriff Danny Rigel and regular weekday office hours.

Lamar County Sheriff’s Office
205 Main Street, Suite B
Purvis, MS 39475
Office: 601-794-1005
Weekdays: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Jail custody/status: 601-794-1088

The Sheriff does not publish a dedicated booking-photo request form or fee schedule in the reviewed county pages. Send a specific written request with the name, date range, arresting agency, and booking number if known. Ask for electronic delivery, an itemized cost estimate, and the reason for any withholding.

Court and Dispatch Routing

Use Lamar Justice Court for many misdemeanors, initial appearances, and early felony matters. The Circuit Clerk maintains criminal case records. Central E-9-1-1 dispatch is for an incident or safety-related non-emergency, not routine records research.

  • Lamar Justice Court, 205 Main Street, Suite A, Purvis, MS 39475, 601-794-2950.
  • Lamar County Circuit Clerk, 203 Main Street, Purvis, MS 39475, 601-794-8504.
  • Lamar E-9-1-1 non-emergency dispatch, 601-794-8610.
  • For state-custody records, use the Mississippi Department of Corrections official locator or records route.

Hattiesburg Police cases often route to Forrest County custody and Hattiesburg Municipal Court. Confirm the arresting agency and location before contacting Lamar offices.

Records Requests and Corrections

Mississippi’s Public Records Act provides the written request process. A public body should respond, deny, clarify, or explain a delay within seven working days, subject to the statute’s terms. A court disposition, seal, or expunction order belongs with the relevant court. A private third-party page must be addressed through that operator’s own current process after the source record is corrected.
